& help a family with a disabled child in Kyrgyzstan

Our cooperation partner in Kyrgyzstan

Since February 2008 we have been working together with the non governmental organization “EveryChild” in Kyrgyzstan. EveryChild has been functioning there since 1999 and for all this time it has tried to justify the given trust.

EveryChild protects the rights that are written down in the UN Convention of the Rights of Child.

The vision of EveryChild is based upon achieving the world where Nur Bala has a right to grow in a safe and stable family, not knowing poverty and exploitation. All projects of Nur Bala are aimed to bring positive changes in cooperation with the governmental agencies and local communities.

In the beginning of 2008 Nur Bala supported the four groups of parents willing to organize a children center of day care for their own children with development disabilities in the Talas region of Kyrgyzstan. Their children started being under the supervision of well trained professionals. This gives their parents time to work and solve their problems caused by the poverty. Since these centers have been launched,  the parents do not have to place their children in the children’s houses ( usually accommodated for children without parents). Child is simultaneously given parental love and professional care.

As these Centers of Day Care have also included children without development disabilities, as a result, the communication between children with disabilities and children without handicap and their parents is developed.

All the projects of EveryChild are aimed at local community. It entails that the local communities need to express their own initiative and that every member of the society willing to use the services of this center should somehow contribute to the common cause of the project. Parents give their time and energy; local residents do a number of various small jobs in the establishment, garden and etc.

As the sources for livelihood in the country, especially in the Talas region, are scarce, parents find it very important to combine everything available at their disposal.

The parents from the Talas region asked EveryChild to represent their interest in our project with cows as the cooperation partners. At its initiation the project is based on obligations from the entire local community.
